Plunket vax talks ‘ongoing’

Details of how and when Plunket nurses will step into providing childhood immunisations are still being finalised, say Plunket and Te Whatu Ora leaders.

When asked by New Zealand Doctor Rata Aotearoa whether the Government has now approved funding for Plunket to start offering immunisation services, health minister Shane Reti says in an emailed statement that Te Whatu Ora was working “with a range of workforces to arrange contracts and training to deliver childhood immunisations”.

Plunket chief executive Fiona Kingsford, via email, told New Zealand Doctor the service was in “ongoing discussions” with Te Whatu Ora regarding immunisation.
